We very excited to be a returning sponsor of the Tri the Parks race series for the 2018 season.

Tri the Parks, a series raced within some of the most beautiful parks in Georgia,  is entering it’s 17th year this season and is under new ownership. Fortunately, the new owners have been involved in the series as lead volunteers for over a decade so we expect the same high-quality races as we have experienced in the past.

We’ve had an opportunity to spend some time with them and are very excited about the growth and expansion of the series that we’ll begin to see this year and in years to come.

The Tri the Parks team has a reputation for executing a safe and beginner friendly race on a course that will challenge even the most seasoned vets.

Here is a little overview of the 6-race series for 2018

John Tanner 1 - April 29th
Hosted at the John Tanner State Park just an hour west of Atlanta, JT1 is often referred to as the ‘season opener’ for Georgia Triathlon. You’ll find many of the local clubs engaging in friendly competition and great crowd support.

Insider tip: Get to the race site early and bring $5 cash. The line to get into the park gets fairly long on race morning.

Lake Lanier Olympic Park - June 9th
New for 2018!

A note from the race directors:
We are really looking forward to our upcoming race on Saturday, June 9 at the Lake Lanier Olympic Rowing Center in Gainesville. Both the run and bike courses are set in the beautiful countryside with gorgeous scenery and farmland. One of our favorite things about this particular venue is that the swim course will go in front of the stands at the rowing center giving spectators a unique view of their athletes.

Mistletoe State Park - July 14th
Approximately two hours from Atlanta and right in the middle of summer, Mistletoe is worth the drive. You’ll face a challenging course in a beautiful venue.

Insider tip - be ready for trails. Much of the run is completed on trails!

Richard B Russell State Park - July 28th

If you’re looking to add an Olympic Distance race to your summer schedule, RBR is a fun and challenging course. With a two-loop swim, nervous swimmers don’t ever have to worry about being too far from shore.

Insider tip - This race takes place in July in Georgia! The run course is rather….hot. Make sure you come prepared with a good nutrition strategy!

John Tanner 2 - August 25th
Many people like to bookend their season with the Tanner races. You can get a good gage of how much your fitness improved over the summer by racing this course a second time.

Don Carter State Park - September 29th - NEW for 2018

From the race director:
Don Carter is Georgia's newest park and is where the Chattahoochee River flows from the north Georgia mountains and meets Lake Lanier. We are so excited to introduce our Tri the Parks athletes to these amazing new race sites for our series.

As a part of our sponsorship for 2018, we're raising the bar for athletes who want to compete at the elite level. Triathlon series winners will receive prizes from Wahoo Fitness. First place (male/female) will win a Wahoo KICKR, second place (male/female) will win a Wahoo ELMENT Bolt, and third place (male/female) will win a Wahoo TICKR Fit. To qualify you must participate in at least 3 races in the series.

This year we are offering packet pick up the Thursday before each race at both of our Atlanta locations. We’ll be at Podium Multisport from 11-1 and at all3sports from 4-7.

If you can’t make it to packet pick up but you realize that you’re missing an item, you can order online and have it delivered on race day. Orders must be placed by noon the day before the race and in the notes at checkout, you’ll write ‘Race Day Pick Up’. You’ll be able to pick up anything you ordered at the all3sports tent when transition opens.
