Justin Park, JD, CSCS, is a professional triathlete who resides in Carrollton, Georgia. A graduate of Duke University and the UCLA School of Law, Justin was a corporate attorney specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions prior to developing a professional career in triathlon. Justin races 8-10 times per year domestically and internationally, focusing on the half-Ironman distance.
A collegiate soccer player at Duke University, Justin's career was cut short due to being diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition known as Long QT Syndrome. As a result of not ending his sporting career on his own terms, Justin continued to have a nagging desire to pursue elite sports while practicing as an attorney despite the inherent risks present with his heart condition.
Unable to formally receive medical clearance to pursue competition once again due to the fact that his heart condition had such significant risks, Justin chose to assume the risk in order to chase a competitive passion. And through hard work, discipline, and a very close eye on his health, Justin has now been a professional triathlete for eight years and has reached the podium at some of the largest events in the world.
In addition to life as a professional athlete, Justin helped found The Carolina Clinic at UNC, an executive wellness program and division of UNC Hospitals, where he served as the Health and Fitness Director. He also is a board member for several emerging growth companies and regularly speaks at conferences, corporate events and community organizations on a wide variety of health and wellness topics.
