On October 5, 2025, hundreds of cyclists will clip in and roll out on the scenic backroads of Morgan County for the 19th Annual Spin For Kids, Camp Twin Lakes’ beloved group ride that fuels so much more than miles. For nearly two decades, this event has brought together riders of all ages and abilities to raise funds for children living with serious illnesses, disabilities, and life challenges.
Over the last 18 years, Spin For Kids has raised more than $5 million, sending more than 7,200 kids to Camp Twin Lakes. These camp experiences are life-changing, offering a safe, supportive place where kids can just be kids. Each pedal stroke at Spin For Kids helps ensure more children get that opportunity.
A Ride for Everyone. Spin For Kids is designed with every rider in mind. From the 5-mile family loop to the 100-mile century, cyclists can choose a distance that fits their experience and goals. Options include 5, 15, 27, 47, 62, or 100 miles, all winding through the rolling hills and farmland of North Georgia.
For families, the 5-mile route is especially popular, offering a safe and fun option for kids. Riders under 12 can participate without a fundraising minimum, while teens ages 13–17 are encouraged to raise $100. Parents can even hop on for a second ride to join their child for that final lap of fun.
And for those who can’t make it to Rutledge, Spin For Kids offers a virtual option: ride from home, from your favorite trail, or even from a different state. Wherever you ride, you’re part of the team.
How to Register and Donate: Signing up is simple, but it does come with a commitment. Every rider pays a registration fee, which covers rest stops, food, drinks, t-shirts, and goody bags. Fees start at just $10 on April 1 and gradually increase to $45 on event day. That fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
In addition, each rider over 18 commits to raising at least $200 to support Camp Twin Lakes. Riders have until October 5 to hit that minimum, and if you fall short, the card on file will be charged the difference. It’s a serious promise, but you’re not left to figure it out alone. Spin For Kids provides a Participant Center packed with tools, email coaching, and fundraising tips. Many riders surpass the $200 easily by reaching out to family, friends, and coworkers, or by organizing small fundraisers like bake sales and car washes.
Special bonus this year: Register you and a friend between August 25 and September 8 and you’ll be automatically entered to win a 43” Samsung TV.
And don’t forget, fundraising dollars go directly to camp programs — 100% of what you raise sends kids to Camp Twin Lakes. That makes every donation tax-deductible, though the registration fee itself is not.
Riding Together, Supporting Together: Spin For Kids thrives on community. While fundraising is tracked individually, families and teams are encouraged to work together on creative ideas and then split the proceeds toward each rider’s minimum. The camp staff is always happy to provide logos, flyers, or even postcards to help you spread the word.
Offline donations are accepted, too. Checks and cash can be mailed to Camp Twin Lakes’ Atlanta office, and staff will update your online profile within 7 to 10 business days.
Why It Matters: Spin For Kids is more than a charity ride. It’s a day of connection, joy, and purpose that directly funds experiences kids can’t find anywhere else. At Camp Twin Lakes, children facing major health and life challenges get a chance to forget hospitals and hardships for a little while and focus on adventure, friendship, and growth.
By signing up, you’re not just joining another ride. You’re giving kids the chance to discover strength, resilience, and joy at camp. That’s what makes this ride unlike any other.
