We were very excited to hit the road for Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga this past weekend. Not only did we have some fantastic athletes racing, we also were able to partner with Team ZERO and Team Edith to support their athletes throughout the race weekend.

Friday morning we loaded up bright and early and headed out to the Scenic City. By the time we arrived, the outdoor expo was in full force!

Our mechanic, Scott Miles, set up at the expo and helped athletes from the teams prepare for the race with last minute adjustments.

On Saturday, we headed out to the Tennesee River for a practice swim with Team Edith and ran into a few all3sports team members and customers along the way.

Saturday finished off with an early dinner with some of our all3sports Elite Team members and professional triathlete, Justin Park. Thanks to Justin for all of the great race day tips!

After a short night, Sunday came early! Finally, time to race. There was a slight delay while race organizers decided to cut down the swim course due to an incredibly strong current from the overnight storms. Before long, age-groupers were jumping off the dock and heading downriver towards transition. Then it was out to a fast bike course before the muggy run.

Special thanks to Atlanta Tri Club for inviting us to join the cheer squad at the top of the hill. Spectators and friends could join the best block party on the course while seeing their athletes pass by three times.

Overall, the all3sports team had a strong day. Results:

    • Matt Shectman - 5th Age Group, 15th Overall. 4:03:03
    • Matt Triick - 7th Age Group, 22nd Overall. 4:05:42
    • Joe Wilson - 7th Age Group, 60th Overall, 4:16:53 *WC Qualifier
    • Izumi Yamashita Zaffuto - 11th Age Group, 422 Overall *WC Qualifier

And perhaps the best moment of the day was when Izumi qualified for the World Championship! Those are tears of joy!

Thanks for a great weekend Chattanooga - we'll be seeing you soon!
