The positioning benefits of the E-118 don't stop at the geometry.
Argon 18 is the first manufacturer to offer total integration, thanks to our ONEness 2.0 concept. This exclusive system forms a fully adjustable cockpit based around the reversible AHB-7500 handlebar. In each frame size, this system offers a stem length adjustment of 65 or 95 mm. The reversible base bar can provide 5cm increased height adjustment, with the armrests allowing a further 5cm. Furthermore, the armrests offer a range of 12cm in width and 4cm of fore and aft adjustment.
The E-118 integrated cockpit combines flexible positioning with a stable, rock-solid feel, for maximum comfort and performance. The E-118 frame is also designed in harmony with our HDS (Horizontal Dual System) principle. Guided by our OPTIMAL BALANCE philosophy, HDS is a conceptual divide that separates the frame into two distinct zones, each having a different role. The lower area (power zone) is very rigid for complete power transfer, While the upper area (comfort zone) is built to be more compliant, dissipating shock and vibrations. Thanks to HDS, the E-118 wastes none of your energy but pampers you with comfort, staving off fatigue so you can sustain top performance even on Ironman-distance courses.
The E-118's 7105 HM Nano-Tech carbon composite has been specially formulated to fulfill the performance criteria set out in the design brief, ensuring an optimal blend of stiffness, comfort and light weight. This results in a frame and integrated fork that combine efficiency and comfort, with the right kind of feedback from the road to inspire confidence in technical turns and descents, even at high speeds. The E-118 is the ultimate expression of OPTIMAL BALANCE, an efficient, innovative machine that will make the most of every watt you put out.
The E-118 takes integration another step forward, with intelligently-designed components specific to the E-118. Apart from the monocoque frame, these include:
- A new full-carbon fork with an external, streamlined steer tube that reduces the frontal area, compared to our previous models.
- TRP’s Advanced Braking Systems, a very powerful V-Brake system that is tucked away behind the front fork and bottom bracket, generating virtually no drag.
- The new ASP-7500 reversible seat post has been updated with a lighter, simpler & low-profile seat clamp design-exclusive to Argon 18.
Out of the box, the E-118 is equally compatible with Di2 / EPS or mechanical components. Regardless of the group you choose, all cables and wiring are internally routed for enhanced aerodynamics.
