The 3D Headtube
The E-112 is equipped with the Argon 18 exclusive 3D Headtube system also featured on the E-116. The 3D system replaces normal headtube spacers with a functionally designed mechanism that doesn’t compromise front end stiffness the way spacers do.
The 3D system is simple to install and adjust, allowing the rider to choose between three effective head tube lengths. This allows riders to find an ideal positioning on the bike to match performance, comfort and flexibility demands.The 3D system lets the user choose from three effective head tube lengths for a given frame size for positioning flexibility. These lengths are as follows:
- Basic head tube length, no 3D spacer
- Basic head tube length + 15mm
- Basic head tube length + 25mm
The 3D system ensures riders can fine tune their position on the bike without excessive spacers. This maximizes frame functionality because front end rigidity is maintained more effectively. With the 3D system, bars set at 15mm high preserves 5% more stiffness than conventional spacers and up to 11% stiffness for bars set at 25mm.
The 3D offers three effective head tube lengths that allows for easier repositioning later if the riders position needs changed or flexibility increases making this triathlon bike a unique design. This design allows the bike to adapt to the rider making for a more comfortable riding position. This means riders will be able to maintain an aerodynamic position longer and more comfortably. This allows the rider to be more comfortable maneuvering the bike even in the aerobars.
Stack height: a correctly proportional head tube length for every frame size
Every frame size features a correctly-sized head tube, making it easier for the user to set the appropriate position according to the optimal hip angle, regardless of the individual’s flexibility.

At 400mm in all frame sizes, the chainstays of the E-112 are longer than most of our competitors’ stays. This increases overall stability for the at high speed and crisp, faultless shifting, every time… count on it.
For many triathletes emphasis is commonly placed on the aerodynamic properties of bikes. As important as it is the reality is that the athlete generates up to 70% of the aerodynamic drag. This fact is at the core of Argon 18’s design philosophy that the rider and bike must form an integrated unit in order to optimize efficiency and achieve the best results. Optimal positioning through AFS gives the rider the ability to remain in their aerodynamic position longer, more comfortably, and more efficiently.
AFS also produces extremely accurate steering and stable handling. This allows the rider to remain on the armrests in circumstances where it has not always been possible such as descents and when hydrating.
